The NRail Telematics System offers live transmission, recording and provision of rail vehicle operating data and works independently of manufacturers and model series. This enables railway companies to do a large step towards the digitalisation of their everyday operating business.
The data can be retrieved from everywhere via the web and is provided in a clear presentation on our telematics website on iot.nrail.de. For the use of mobile devices, the telematics website is also smartphone-optimised. Additionaly, the operating data can be integrated into other systems thanks to an extensive API.

- Reducing the engine idle percentage due to recording downtimes with the engine running

- Analysis options for crashs and extra-ordinary events thanks to especially precise data in such cases
The associated hardware (the data box “Paula”) was specially developed for this purpose.
It is certified according to DIN EN 50155:218 (incl. product safety, fire protection, CE, etc.), it is immediately ready for operational use on all kinds of rail vehicles and its installation in the vehicle takes place on the rails and without the necessity of a repair shop appointment.
More than 400 vehicles are already equipped with “Paula” (status: January 2025).
Regarding customer requests, the modular designed data box offers the possibility to connect additional sensors via analogue and digital inputs to the standard version of the hardware.
